Understand AppReport revenue, proceeds, and written reviews

Avoid mixing estimates, final financial periods, and incomplete review coverage.

Estimated and final proceeds

Sales and Trends and Financial Reports are distinct sources. Operational sales or estimated proceeds must not be read as final settled financial results.

Financial Reports preserve Apple’s fiscal periods and settlement currencies. A fiscal month may not match a calendar month, and amounts in different currencies must not be added without an explicit conversion method.

Check mappings and coverage

Financial products without a verified app mapping can leave app-level coverage incomplete. In Data health, review the import result and the distinction between files archived and files used in reports. Missing files are not zero revenue.

Written reviews are a subset

AppReport’s written-review count and average describe the reviews returned by the source. They do not represent every App Store rating or a complete historical review record. Read-only review collection does not post replies or change a review.

Use compatible comparisons

Before exporting or sharing a result, check source, period, currency, app mapping, and completeness. Open Data health for source details rather than interpreting an unavailable value as a business outcome.
