Track keywords and understand rank history

Save context-specific keywords and distinguish a saved list from collected ranking evidence.

Tracking saves the terms and research context you want to follow. Rank history requires actual validated observations for that context.

Add terms to your tracking list

  1. Open Keyword explorer.

  2. Choose the keyword, storefront, keyword language, device, and app where relevant.

  3. Run Analyze keyword.

  4. When the results offer Track keywords, choose it and wait for the saved confirmation.

  5. Open Rank tracking to confirm the saved entries and their collection state.

Review the terms in the results before saving: the control can save multiple returned keywords. Importing listing keywords for analysis is a separate action and does not itself start tracking.

Check collection status

As of September 19, 2026, the dashboard reports that organic rank collection awaits App Store validation. A saved tracking entry does not mean collection is active, that historical data has been backfilled, or that a fixed refresh schedule is available.

If an earlier saved list is shown separately, follow its guidance to select a keyword language and device in the explorer and explicitly start context-specific tracking.

Read history correctly

Use Results and history for a saved entry when available. Always check the app and research context before comparing observations.

  • Observed rank: the app was found at a validated organic position.

  • Not in the observed top results: absence applies only to the complete depth that was captured.

  • Partial or unavailable evidence: the app’s position is unknown.

  • No rank history yet: no eligible series is available for this context.

A missing rank is never rank zero. Missing days are not evidence of no movement, and absence from the top 100 is not the same as rank 101. Compare observations only when their storefront, language, device, and source context are compatible.

Stop following a term

Use the entry’s Stop tracking action when you no longer want to track that context. This changes your research list; it does not edit your Apple listing or prove that all historical evidence has been deleted.
